Messed Up Email of the Day
Today’s emailer says they purchased a home in Franklin with a guarantee their new job was secure. The jobs fell through, but the owners think there’s something more to the story.
My husband was offered a job in Franklin, TN. We sold our home in Illinois and moved here shortly after I was hired in the same company. The CEO’s wife was our realtor and his son was the finance person that we were introduced to. We found a home that we were going to purchase and felt very obligated to go through his family for the purchase. In January, prior to the purchase, with the economy being the way it is, my husband went to the CEO and other management and assured his position. He asked if it was safe to make a huge purchase and he was giving the heads up! We moved in, in mid January, two weeks later I was laid off, and 4 months later my husband was giving the pink slip! How could companies get away with playing with people’s lives like this?

Nobody’s playing with your life. Companies get blindsided just as hard & quickly as individuals.
You were not obligated in any way to go through the family for your purchase.
